Imagining Ali Wallace is a ground-breaking multimedia piece that combines video art installation and a captivating live performance. Created by Malaysian artists Nandita Solomon and Dain Said, along with designer Fariz Hanapiah and composer Goh Lee Kwang, this work features the mesmerising vocals of the KL Young Ensemble and ASWARA's Vocal Ensemble. Commissioned by Yayasan Hasanah, it incorporates images from Alfred Wallace's extraordinary natural history collection, currently housed in the British Museum and Natural History in London. Imagining Ali Wallace highlights the significance of indigenous wisdom and values, fostering effective and equitable outcomes in global development.
