Information
Locally rooted knowledge and wisdom need to be leveraged to to significantly advance social impact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, global funders often have limited access, visibility, and connection to the impact leaders active at the hyperlocal or grassroots communities where change is most complex. The voices of these leaders, particularly women, people with disabilities or people of determination, those from the Global South and Indigenous communities, continue to be underrepresented in global narratives and forums. This workshop will employ Open Space Technology to uncover potential solutions.
Key Takeaways:
- Explore barriers and opportunities in amplifying the voices of hyperlocal impact leaders
- Collectively design innovative solutions to bridge the gap of local knowledge in the Global South
- Draw on the lessons learned from the pilots of the Global Leadership Academy by AVPN, a learning initiative that aims to facilitate South-south peer learning and amplify the unheard voices of leaders in the Global South
