From Practice to Partnership: Deepening IMM Capabilities in Asia

Across Asia’s growing impact investing ecosystem, one theme keeps surfacing: while capital is increasingly available, clarity around how to measure and manage impact still lags behind. For many investors, the question isn’t whether to pursue impact—but how to embed it meaningfully into investment decisions. In response to this gap, Impact Frontiers led a series of practitioner-focused IMM workshops in Vietnam, Malaysia, and India earlier this year, with AVPN as a regional partner. The sessions brought together funders and capital allocators to explore real-world challenges: balancing financial and impact outcomes, making trade-offs explicit, and using IMM as a decision-making tool rather than a reporting checklist. The response highlighted a clear demand for more contextually relevant, action-oriented learning. Building on this momentum, AVPN and Impact Frontiers are now entering a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening IMM capabilities across Asia. The collaboration will focus on tailored learning journeys, peer knowledge exchanges, and regionally adapted frameworks that help shift IMM from theory to practice.
