Christel House India, a registered non-profit established in 2001, is part of a global network that educates and prepares students from under-resourced communities to achieve upward economic mobility, become responsible citizens, and realise their goals, dreams and human potential. We believe unlocking this potential requires holistic, long-term support beyond the classroom. Our whole-child model nurtures students academically, emotionally, socially, and professionally through four integrated pillars: Academics, Character Development, Health & Community Development, and College & Careers.

Students begin their Christel House journey as early as kindergarten (age 5) and continue through Grade 12, receiving high-quality education, nutritious meals, medical and mental health care, transportation, books, uniforms, and stationery, entirely free of cost. We also intentionally engage caregivers, recognising their critical role in students’ lives.

Our commitment continues well beyond Grade 12. Through the College & Careers program, Christel House supports alumni for five years after graduation as they pursue higher education and prepare for employment. Students receive scholarships towards college fees, academic support, counselling, career guidance, internships, and job placement, while their academic progress is closely tracked and additional support provided as needed.

Our commitment to each student spans 18 years or more—from kindergarten through higher education and into employment—creating a multiplier effect in which breaking the cycle of poverty can improve opportunities not only for graduates but also for future generations.

We are unwavering in the belief that our students’ potential is not limited by their experience with poverty. By providing them with the right interventions, connecting them to empowering opportunities, and intentionally developing their sense of agency and self-efficacy, we equip them with the skills and knowledge to pursue and achieve their goals and aspirations. At Christel House, we prepare our students from classrooms to life.
