From Risk to Resilience: Insurance Models for Climate-Vulnerable Communities
Information
Join us for an intimate breakfast discussion on protecting vulnerable communities from escalating climate risks across Asia. Many vulnerable communities are in the frontlines of economic acceleration, yet excluded from social protection, hindering resilience building amongst these communities. This session explores how parametric (index-based) insurance can serve as a protective tool, covering all forms of threats - climate-linked, financial, etc., and offer fast relief to communities that need it. This session will include an opening keynote by Leslie Johnston, the CEO of Laudes Foundation.
Designed as a space for open dialogue and exchange, the session invites insurers, remittance platforms, policymakers, and civil society actors to share practical experiences, build connections, and co-develop pathways for inclusive financial protection.
Key Takeaways:
- Identify practical steps to pilot and scale parametric protection
- Discover financing and de-risking tools that support early-stage pilots
- Co-create sustainable models by leveraging government and industry
This session is open for all registered conference delegates. Breakfast will be served outside the session.
