The South Asia region faces critical challenges in building a strong, resilient and just recovery path from the effects of the pandemic. Issues such as Gender Equality, Livelihood opportunities for Youth, Climate Action and Just Energy Transition, Health Equity and Preparedness, and Ecosystem Development continue to hinder the region’s growth. The region is no where close to meeting the SDG targets by 2030.

Given India’s prominence in South Asia, it is vital to examine the country’s influence over the region and unpack the role of the private and social sectors in contributing to not just India’s development narrative but also fueling the growth narrative of the South Asia region as a whole.
